Portugal made it to the quarterfinals of Euro 2016 after a slender 1-0 victory over Croatia. Ricardo Quaresma scored the winner for the Seleccao in the 116th minute.

The game was a cagey affair as both teams played a defensive brand of football. In regulation time, neither of the sides managed to register a shot on target and the game went into extra time.

For the most part of the added thirty, it was much of the same. But, in the 116th minute of the contest, Quaresma headed the ball into an open net after Portugal attacked the Croats on the break. It was heart-breaking for the team in Red and White, but the Cristiano Ronaldo’s side are through to the quarter-finals with only a solitary win under their belt.
