Arsenal ran out 4-0 winners against Aston Villa in the final game of the season. This win, combined with Newcastle’s win over Spurs, sees Arsenal finish second on the table.
An Olivier Giroud hat-trick and an own goal from Mark Bunn gave Arsenal their win in the final home game of the season. A positive end to another largely disappointing season. This win, however, helped the Gunners beat cross town rivals Tottenham Hotspur to second place after Newcastle handed Spurs a 5-1 thrashing.
Giroud had only recently ended a 15 game goal drought. The Frenchman took the occasion to justify his selection in France’s Euro 2016 squad with a superb hat-trick.
Fans had to wait till the 78th minute for the Frenchman to double his tally and Arsenal’s lead.
He didn’t wait too long to finish his hat-trick after that.
