Wayne Rooney scored his first goal against Liverpool in 11 years late in the second half to snatch victory from out of nowhere, as Manchester United beat the Reds 1-0 at Anfield.
Liverpool dominated most of the proceedings in their Premier League encounter against the Red Devils. However, Wayne Rooney made sure that Manchester United’s only shot on target made the difference as he scored a brilliant goal in the 77th minute after a Fellaini header rebounded off the goalpost.
This was Rooney’s first ever goal against Liverpool and helped him surpass Thierry Henry’s record for goals scored for a single club in the Premier League, with his 176th goal for Manchester United.
