A compilation video of Steven Gerrard volleys (against Olympiakos, West Ham et al) was where it started for me. My passion for football has come a long way since then, but some things remain: Stevie G is my hero, Liverpool FC are my club, and no matter how many tactics and formations you come across, nothing sums up what I love about the game more than a well struck volley from beyond the 18-yard box.
