Bayern Munich will push to sign signing 19-year-old Tottenham defensive talent Luka Vuskovic if Kim Min-jae departs for a suitable offer in the summer.
According to FCB Inside, Bayern Munich are ready to make a push for Luka Vuskovic with the view of replacing current first-team star Kim Min-jae. The South Korean defender is currently not seen as more than a rotational option, and Vincent Kompany seemingly wants someone to challenge his first-choice centre-backs, which has seen the club linked with the 19-year-old Tottenham prodigy.
Bayern Munich have one of the most formidable squads in world football, including one of the meanest defences in Europe. However, Vincent Kompany could look to make changes in the upcoming summer window, possibly at the expense of one of their current first-team stars.
South Korean Kim Min-jae has been a rotational option at best after three years at the club. When Bayern Munich signed him from Napoli, following a title-winning campaign in Serie A and having been considered the best centre-back in Italy at the time, he has not lived up to his reputation and expectations.
Kim Min-jae has a few suitors, with Chelsea and Tottenham keeping close tabs on his situation ahead of the summer. Bayern Munich would consider reasonable offers for the South Korean. Once he is sold, they will push to sign Tottenham wonderkid Luka Vuskovic, who has continued to impress with his performances for Hamburger in the Bundesliga.
The Bavarian giants are not alone in the race for the 19-year-old Tottenham prodigy, with rivals Borussia Dortmund also in the mix for the Croat. However, Bayern Munich have an appeal of their own when it comes to luring in top players, and an approach would certainly entice Vuskovic towards a move.
Will Tottenham sell Luka Vuskovic?
Tottenham have found themselves in the thick of the Premier League relegation battle, and should they go down, players like Luka Vuskovic could push for an exit. While Spurs are counting on the 19-year-old to be a part of the team for years to come, the level of interest and a potential relegation could take the power out of their hands.
Vuskovic could be a good option for Bayern Munich, where Kompany is keen to bring in a new defender who could challenge for a starting spot. Kim Min-jae, in that regard, has somewhat failed, as he is resigned to being a rotational option at best. While the South Korean is a good player to have, the evolution of the club’s defence would mean a departure makes plenty of sense.
