Atletico Madrid eyeing summer move for Alexander Isak

Liverpool striker Alexander Isak is already being linked with a move away from the Merseyside club ahead of the summer transfer window.

Alexander Isak joined Liverpool for a Premier League record fee last summer, but he is on the sidelines with a serious injury. The Swede has started just six Premier League games for Liverpool, and he has two goals and an assist to his name.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are willing to sanction his departure in the summer. According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are interested in securing his signature. They are looking to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit, and the 26-year-old striker could be an excellent addition.

There is no doubt that Alexander Isak is one of the best attackers in the world when he is fit. He can operate both centrally and on the flanks. The Swedish internatioanl could add a new dimension to the Atletico Madrid attack. He could form a solid partnership with Julian Alvarez.

Atletico Madrid will be hoping to win the league title in the coming seasons, and they need more quality in the final third, particularly as Antoine Griezmann closes in on moving to MLS. Signing the Swedish international could take them to a whole new level.

Isak exit seems unlikely

However, it seems highly unlikely that Atletico Madrid will be able to get the deal done. The report claims that the striker is valued at €100 million. Even though Los Rojiblancos has the financial muscle to pay the asking price, Liverpool are unlikely to sanction his departure.

The Colchoneros paid a club record fee to sign the player, but he has not been able to live up to expectations so far because of a serious injury. They will look to get the best out of him in the upcoming campaigns.

Alexander Isak has no reason to leave the Premier League club either. The 26-year-old Swede has joined an elite club, and he will look to win major trophies with them. The move through Atletico Madrid might be tempting under different circumstances, but it is unlikely that he will leave the Premier League champions anytime soon.
