Manchester United could face competition in their pursuit of Ibrahim Sangare as West Ham and Aston Villa enter the race.
According to Caught Offside, Ibrahim Sangare is attracting plenty of interest from Nottingham Forest’s Premier League rivals as well as clubs higher up in the table. West Ham and Aston Villa are the latest to enter the race and rival Manchester United for the Ivorian midfielder ahead of the summer window.
Ibrahim Sangare was signed by Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023, but it is the current season where he has made a significant mark on proceedings. The Ivorian midfielder has been key for the team in their efforts to avoid relegation so far, and will be important if they survive.
However, this could be his final season with Forest, as a host of their Premier League rivals are lining up moves for the midfielder. There are some teams in need of a top-drawer midfielder who manages the physicality of the league with ease, whilst also bringing a level of security currently lacking — something Sangare, standing at 1.91m, brings to the table.
Manchester United hold an interest in Sangare, as they are creating plans to revamp their midfield with several top-drawer names being linked with a move. They are incidentally linked with the Premier League midfielder’s Forest teammate Elliott Anderson, while the likes of Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton are also seen as potential targets.
Manchester United will look further into the idea of chasing Sangare as a potential target in the next few months and keep an eye on how he ends the season with Forest. However, they are not alone in the race, as two other Premier League sides are keen.
Nottingham Forest to Sell Ibrahim Sangare?
Forest paid a reported €35 million to sign Sangare from PSV Eindhoven, and if they were to sell, the report points to figures in the region of €45–50 million. Should a club like Manchester United make a credible approach, Sangare might be open to the idea of making the switch to a bigger club in the Champions League, which may potentially cause problems for other suitors like Aston Villa and West Ham.
Aston Villa are eager to add to their midfield and could view Sangare’s experience in the Premier League as vital. They could also anticipate a departure for Amadou Onana, which would make the Forest man the ideal replacement. As for West Ham’s interest, they might feel adding Sangare’s would help them next season if they were to fight relegation again, owing to his displays this season, but the midfielder might choose a different route.
