Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba in recent months.
Carlos Baleba has been excellent for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he deserves to compete at a higher level. The opportunity to join Manchester United could be exciting for him. They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the youngster could be tailor-made for them.
The Cameroonian midfielder will add physicality, defensive steel, drive and creativity to the team. He has all the tools to develop into a complete midfielder with the right guidance. Joining a bigger club could help him improve further and fulfil his potential.
Meanwhile, Manchester United icon Jaap Stam has now predicted that the Red Devils are likely to be successful in their pursuit of the Premier League midfielder.
Stam said, “I really like Carlos Baleba at Brighton and think he could replace Casemiro at Manchester United,” Stam told TEAMtalk.
“I like Frenkie de Jong a lot too, but it looks as though he’ll be staying at Barcelona. Manchester United need to be looking for a replacement that has good legs and the engine to run up and down the field. They also need to be very good with the ball too. Baleba can do that.
“Kobbie Mainoo looks to be stepping up his levels and has been performing very well. Alongside him, you need a player who has quality on the ball, who can defend well, and can at times also join in the attack, get into the box and maybe score or create goals for his teammates.”
Baleba will cost around £75 million, and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can negotiate the deal quickly. They need to improve the team if they want to fight for major trophies.
The Red Devils have not been able to compete for the Premier League title or the UEFA Champions League for a long time. They will be desperate to get back to the top of English football. Michael Carrick is currently the interim manager at Manchester United. It will be interesting to see if they persist with him.
There have been rumours that they could look to bring in a new manager at the end of the season. They will need stability to attract quality players, and Baleba will need to be convinced of the project.
The 22-year-old is a young player with a lot of potential, and he is good enough to play for top teams. There is unlikely to be any shortage of interest in him. Multiple clubs will look to sign him, and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can win the race for his signature.
