Pablo set to join West Ham United as €23 million deal agreed

Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham United have a €23 million agreement in place to sign Gil Vicente attacking sensation Pablo.

Pablo’s sensational performances in the Portuguese top flight haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs have been following him for months, but according to Florian Plettenberg, West Ham United seem to have won the race for his signature. The Hammers have a full agreement in place with Gil Vicente to sign the 21-year-old striker, who is expected to be in London within the next 24 hours.

After coming up the ranks at Famalicao and making a name for himself, Pablo joined Gil Vicente in the summer of 2024. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent ahead of the ongoing campaign thanks to his impressive performances.

The young striker seems to have taken his game to the next level in the ongoing campaign. He has bagged 10 goals and an assist in his 13 league outings. The 21-year-old has been simply outstanding in the final third, and it has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe.

While multiple top clubs expressed interest in his services, West Ham were quick off the blocks. Nuno Espirito Santo has been desperate to add a new striker in the winter transfer window. With Niclas Fullkrug joining AC Milan on loan, they only had Callum Wilson and Callum Marshall as the two options up top.

Pablo to join West Ham United

The Portuguese manager wanted to bring in someone who could add more pace and excitement to their game. After weeks of scouting, the Hammers decided to go all out to sign Pablo, as he seems to have all the qualities to be a great striker in the long run.

The West London club have already reached a full agreement with the Portuguese club. The total cost of the operation will be €23 million, which is a massive investment for someone who has limited experience at the highest level. However, the Hammers were desperate, and the gamble might actually work out in their favour.

Pablo is set to sign a long-term deal with the Premier League club, and he is set to arrive in London within the next 24 hours to undergo his medical at his new club. The deal is expected to be finalised before their fixture against Wolves on Saturday.
