Tottenham sounded out over Leon Goretzka move, Thomas Frank gives green light

Leon Goretzka continues to be linked with a potential move to Tottenham, and Thomas Frank would be open to the idea of signing the midfielder.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Leon Goretzka is being sounded out over a move to Tottenham, with the player open to a new challenge away from Bayern Munich. The midfielder has not been a consistent presence under Vincent Kompany, which has led to speculation over his immediate future at the club.

Once a key part of a successful Bayern Munich side, 30-year-old Leon Goretzka’s time at the club could be coming to an end soon. The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, which could spark the possibility of a sale on a cut-price fee, with a few clubs certainly showing interest.

Tottenham are keen on signing Goretzka, and Thomas Frank is eager to fortify his midfield with a new option ahead of the January window. The North Londoners did a deal with Bayern Munich back in the summer to take experienced midfielder Joao Palhinha on loan, with the move working in their favour so far.

There is a possibility of them going in for another, with the 30-year-old Bayern Munich star being sounded out over a move to North London. Leon Goretzka is reportedly open to a new challenge, and at the moment, he might even consider Spurs as a potential option.

Frank has greenlit the move, should the two clubs manage to find an agreement. For Spurs, it could be a good deal in the short to medium term given Goretzka’s experience and the things he could bring to this Tottenham side for the second half of the season and beyond.

Tottenham to sign a new midfielder?

Thomas Frank has not been able to find the right balance in his midfield, with fans equally confused every game as to which partnership will start. Hence, they need a solid enough option, as Leon Goretzka could emerge as a big target, but the 30-year-old Bayern Munich star is not alone in the mix.

Davide Frattesi was reportedly offered to Spurs alongside a host of other teams in the Premier League, while Club Brugge’s young Serbian star Aleksandar Stankovic is also being linked. Overall, Tottenham are expected to bring a new midfielder in January to shore up their options in the middle of the park.
