Mohamed Salah is set to continue at Liverpool until the end of the season and will likely move to the Middle East next summer.
Mohamed Salah’s future has been a massive talking point ever since his explosive interview. Multiple reports have suggested that his relationship with Arne Slot is not the best, and he could end up leaving the club mid-season.
But, according to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool have decided against selling the Egyptian international in the upcoming transfer window. Salah is expected to stay at Anfield until the end of the season. The Reds now expect him to move to the Saudi Pro League next summer.
Salah, who was once regarded as a Chelsea flop, revived his career at AS Roma before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth €39 million. He established himself as a key figure at the Merseyside club in no time and went on to shatter records.
The 33-year-old has won all major titles during his time at the club and has been one of their standout performers over the years. Salah was on fire last season, as he contributed towards 57 goals in his 52 outings.
Given his exceptional performances, the Reds were keen on extending his stay at the club, and they did manage to tie him down to a new short-term deal. However, he has not been able to replicate his performances from last season.
Salah won’t leave Liverpool in January
The 33-year-old has not been in the best of form, and his future has become a big talking point following a bust-up with Arne Slot. He recently gave an explosive interview, which led to further speculations. While the relationship between the coach and the player seems to have completely broken down, Salah is still expected to continue at Liverpool for now.
The Reds do not intend to let him leave mid-season, and following Alexander Isak’s injury, it certainly seems to be the right call. Slot and Salah have agreed to put their differences aside until the season’s end. Liverpool now expect him to complete a move to the Middle East at the end of the season, after he turned down the opportunity last summer to sign a renewal at Anfield.
