Manchester United are planning a new contract for Casemiro on wages in the region of £120,000-£150,000 per week.
According to Ekrem Konur, Manchester United are preparing a new contract for Casemiro following his stellar performances for the first team this season. The caveat is the wages, as the Red Devils are only willing to make an offer worth £120,000-£150,000 per week, which will be a significant reduction from his current salary.
Casemiro has been one of the top performers in this Manchester United side, and that has been refreshing for the fans who had widely wanted him gone not a while ago. The Brazilian has formed the main midfield partnership alongside Bruno Fernandes, with Ruben Amorim extremely happy with his performances.
Amorim had reportedly urged the club to offer Casemiro a new deal, which could be forthcoming in the upcoming period. The Brazilian international reportedly rejected the idea of departing Old Trafford back in the summer, as the club may have considered parting ways, particularly for the wages he takes home every week.
Casemiro earns £375,000 a week in wages and is probably the highest-paid star at the club at the moment, which Manchester United does not see as conducive or sustainable in the long run. The club are already in contact with the Brazilian over a new deal, but there may be a caveat for the midfielder before he could think about agreeing to a new deal.
Casemiro’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and while Manchester United have the option to extend it by another season, they are not planning on doing so. Instead, they are planning a new deal if the resurgent first-team star could reduce his wages.
Manchester United prepares new offer
Manchester United are readying a new offer for Casemiro, which will see him earn between £120,000-£150,000 in weekly wages. The drastic reduction from his current £375,000 a week earnings will be a big talking point, and it remains to be seen if the resurgent first-team star will agree on these terms. Should he give his nod, then the new contract will be until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Casemiro has no shortage of suitors, including Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr, among others, as the Middle Eastern clubs could offer him a lucrative contract. The chances of Manchester United getting Casemiro to sign on the reduced terms will entirely depend on the player and his willingness to keep playing at Old Trafford, or else he might leave for a better deal elsewhere.
