Joe Gomez agrees personal terms with AC Milan, waiting for green light

Joe Gomez has agreed on personal terms with AC Milan, with the transfer only likely to happen if Marc Guehi joins Liverpool.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Joe Gomez is waiting for a green light on his proposed move to AC Milan. The 28-year-old Liverpool utility man has already agreed on personal terms with the Rossoneri, with only a potential move for Marc Guehi to Merseyside putting the brakes on the English defender’s move to San Siro.

Liverpool made a statement of intent after finally finding a breakthrough in talks with Newcastle United for Alexander Isak. The Merseysiders are yet to announce the Swedish striker, but that may come in due time following their record spend on the attacker.

However, they still have one big piece of business pending in the background, which is the deal for Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. Liverpool are hopeful of signing the defender, and should that deal go through, then they can potentially allow Joe Gomez a departure from the side.

AC Milan have been optimistic about signing Gomez, and have put forth an offer to test Liverpool’s resolve. Reports were stating Liverpool have stalled the move for the defender to the San Siro, and that is because they are waiting on the Guehi deal to conclude.

Gomez already has personal terms agreed with Milan over a move, and it may be a matter of Liverpool giving the go-ahead for the 28-year-old utility man to complete the formalities of a move. For now, time is running out for Gomez to make his switch to San Siro.

Marc Guehi update that could change the Joe Gomez transfer

As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have agreed a deal for Marc Guehi to complete his move from Crystal Palace. This is a key piece of business done by the Reds that could now see Gomez leave the club and make his move to AC Milan.

The challenge for the 28-year-old Liverpool utility man is to get the formalities done on time. As per the current state, he might have to conclude a medical in England before the paperwork process begins, as there could be some level of optimism renewed for AC Milan in the final hours of the window.
