Crystal Palace are eager to make a move for Harvey Elliott as they are ready to ramp up efforts to replace Eberechi Eze with multiple signings.
According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace are leaning towards bringing in key reinforcements before the window shuts, as they plan on replacing Eberechi Eze with multiple signings. One of them could be Harvey Elliott, as the Eagles are eager to make a move for the 22-year-old disgruntled prospect at Liverpool.
Crystal Palace have a testing week ahead of them as Oliver Glasner will hope chairman Steve Parish delivers new faces before the transfer window shuts. The Eagles have recently sold Eberechi Eze to Arsenal, with his departure leaving a big void to fill.
On paper, it’s difficult to see how Palace can replace Eze with a single player, hence they are probably leaning towards bringing multiple options that cover different aspects of their former star. Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino is a big target for the Eagles, while they also had Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss on their shortlist.
Tottenham could hijack the El Khannouss deal, which does leave a move to Palace in jeopardy. Glasner’s side have kept their options open and have also looked at Christoph Baumgartner of RB Leipzig as a potential alternative to the Leicester City star.
Now, they are reportedly in the mix for 22-year-old disgruntled prospect Harvey Elliott, who is eager to quit Liverpool for regular game time elsewhere. The attacking midfielder prefers to play off the left-hand side of the attacking third, and hence, he may not be seen as a direct replacement for Eze.
Crystal Palace eager to make Harvey Elliott move
Palace are now eager to explore the idea of signing Elliott in the next few days and could potentially open talks for the attacking midfielder. RB Leipzig had been in talks to sign the 22-year-old, but there has been no progress made in the deal.
It appears, Leipzig’s move for Elliott is contingent on Chelsea signing Xavi Simons, with the move slowed down due to the Blues’ inability to sell their current unwanted stars like Christopher Nkunku. Hence, Palace are looking to take advantage of the complex situations with those clubs and take Elliott off Liverpool’s hands, as any move will also depend on what the player wants for his immediate future.
