Crystal Palace offer €32 million to sign Yann Bisseck, told to pay €40 million

Crystal Palace have submitted a bid worth €32 million to sign 24-year-old Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck, but they must raise the offer.

Crystal Palace have made a bold move in the summer transfer market by submitting a €32 million bid for Inter Milan defender Yann Aurel Bisseck, but the Serie A champions have swiftly responded: €40 million or no deal.

Crystal Palace’s interest comes as the South London club look to reinforce their backline ahead of the new Premier League campaign. The Eagles, who have already added Borna Sosa to their ranks this summer, are keen on bringing in a dynamic central defender, and Bisseck, with his imposing frame, pace, and composure, fits the bill.

Signed by Inter for just €7 million from Danish club Aarhus in 2023, Bisseck has quickly made a name for himself with his solid performances under Simone Inzaghi. The German has not only shown physical presence but also tactical maturity, catching the eye of scouts across Europe. However, Inter see the 23-year-old as a valuable long-term asset and are reluctant to sell unless their valuation is met.

Inter Milan playing the long game amid squad overhaul

Inter Milan, currently managing several moving parts in their squad, are aware of the growing interest in Bisseck but remain focused on maintaining leverage. With Koni De Winter of Genoa lined up as a potential incoming defender, but only if someone leaves, Inter’s decision on Bisseck could set off a domino effect.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, while Crystal Palace have gone as far as €32 million, Inter are standing firm on a minimum €40 million asking price. Internally, the club knows they hold a strong negotiating position, given Bisseck’s age, potential, and contract status. They also consider the player’s development as just getting started, making a premature sale undesirable unless an offer too good to refuse comes in.

Who will blink first in the Yann Bisseck battle?

From Crystal Palace’s perspective, the pursuit of Bisseck is ambitious, and perhaps necessary, if they want to climb further up the Premier League ladder. He brings both defensive reliability and future resale value, a combination that justifies a sizeable investment. But will they go all the way to €40 million?

For Inter Milan, this is not just a question of money but of planning. Letting Bisseck go now would require securing a suitable replacement quickly, with names like De Winter and Morten Frendrup being considered for different positions across the pitch.

If Crystal Palace are serious about transforming their squad and competing for European places, this is the type of transfer they must see through. Bisseck is young, proven in a top European league, and brimming with upside. Inter are playing hardball, and rightfully so, but if Palace return with an improved offer closer to €38-40 million, a deal could very well materialise.
