Newcastle United midfielder Joe White is close to joining League One side Leyton Orient after a successful loan with League Two outfit MK Dons last summer.
According to Football Insider, Leyton Orient are set to sign Newcastle United midfielder Joe White on a season-long loan deal. The two sides have come to an agreement to send the midfielder away to the lower league side after excelling at League Two outfit MK Dons last summer.
Leyton Orient have made headway in their efforts to land Newcastle United midfielder Joe White. The League One side are ready to take the 22-year-old on a loan deal for the entire season ahead, and allow them to grow in their quest to climb further up.
Joe White was a key player for MK Dons last season in League Two, and impressed with 34 appearances in the league that included 23 starts. Overall, the player needed a step up in his career, and there were a few other lower league sides keen to take him.
Joe White’s current deal with Newcastle United expires in 2027, meaning they might look for a buy option in the loan deal, although that has not been reported yet. The Newcastle United midfielder clearly does not have a future with the Magpies at the top level, and it will be beneficial for him to continue lower down the order in the English football pyramid.
Newcastle United is struggling with their summer window
Central midfielder is not an issue for Newcastle United at the moment, despite selling Sean Longstaff to Leeds United. However, the centre-forward area is a big source of concern for Eddie Howe, as the club are facing massive issues in luring players in during the window. Currently, they are fighting the Alexander Isak issue after his transfer request and have been linked with Benjamin Sesko as the Swede’s replacement.
On the other hand, Brentford are fighting hard to keep hold of Yoane Wissa, despite the striker agreeing on personal terms with Newcastle United. There are many other names in the pipeline, including Alexandar Mitrovic, formerly of Fulham and now at Al-Hilal, as a potential target to improve their strike force.
