Jadon Sancho inching closer to Fenerbahce move

Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho is closing in on a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, amidst interest from Arsenal.

According to a report from The Sun, Jadon Sancho could be heading to Turkiye this summer as giants Fenerbahce are very keen on signing him. Jose Mourinho is looking for more firepower in the final third, and his team are ready to give the former Borussia Dortmund winger an opportunity to bring an end to his Old Trafford nightmare.

Manchester United forked out a massive £73 million to sign Sancho in the summer of 2021 following his sensational rise at Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils had a lot of expectations from the English international, but unfortunately, he could not live up to them.

After falling out with Erik ten Hag, he had a short loan spell at Borussia Dortmund before being loaned out to Chelsea last season. While he had a decent season at Stamford Bridge, the Blues decided against splashing out £25 million to make the deal permanent. They ended up paying a £5 million penalty clause to terminate the buy obligation.

Sancho is back at Old Trafford, but he has no future at the club. With the Englishman available, multiple top clubs are looking to sign the 25-year-old whose contract at Manchester United runs out in 12 months. According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are one of the clubs that have been linked with the English winger.

Fenerbahce could win the race for Sancho

The North London club are looking to add more quality on the left flank, and they did enquire about Sancho. However, Arsenal have not followed up on it. While they are interested in him, he is not a priority target for them.

The Gunners are set to miss out on him as Fenerbahce have taken control of the chase. Mourinho seeks more firepower, and the Turkish giants are willing to make a massive investment to bring him to the club.

Fenerbahce have offered £15 million to Manchester United for the English winger, and they are prepared to meet his wage demands of around £10 million per season. While other top clubs struggle with his wages, low tax rates in Turkiye are a massive help for Fenerbahce.

The offer from the Super Lig club is currently the most convincing, and Sancho is giving it serious consideration. His departure would come as a major boost for Manchester United, allowing them to recoup a portion of their initial investment while freeing up significant space on the wage bill for potential new signings.
