Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Sebastian Szymanski

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Sebastian Szymanski.

Sebastian Szymanski could end up parting ways with Fenerbahce this summer. The Polish international is on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs from across Europe. According to a report from Aksam, Tottenham are keen on signing him, but they will have to battle it out with Nottingham Forest.

Szymanski joined the Turkish outfit in the summer of 2023 from Dynamo Moscow. He has been a standout performer for them over the last two seasons. In his 97 outings across competitions, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has contributed towards 46 goals.

He remains one of the first names on their team sheet under Jose Mourinho, who has deployed the Polish sensation in a variety of midfield roles. Thanks to his consistent performances, quite a few top clubs want to sign him.

Premier League clubs to battle for Szymanski

While there is significant interest in Szymanski from Italy, he could be on his way to the Premier League, with Tottenham and Nottingham both pushing for his signature. Spurs are believed to be long-term admirers of the Fenerbahce sensation.

The North London club have struggled in the ongoing season, and they will be looking to add more quality to their squad in the summer. Ange Postecoglou seeks more creativity down the middle, and the Polish international seems to be an ideal fit for his system.

He could compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI and can even feature in other roles if needed. Tottenham will have to battle Nottingham, who look all set to secure a top-four finish. They will be looking to add more quality to their squad in the summer after an exceptional campaign. If they do secure Champions League football, they can certainly try to lure Szymanski.

While the 25-year-old is a key figure in Mourinho’s first team, they will struggle to hold onto him if a top European club comes knocking. The report suggests the Turkiye outfit would be happy to let him leave for a fee of around €25 million, a figure that both English clubs can certainly afford.
