Tottenham eyeing Erik ten Hag as Ange Postecoglou replacement

Tottenham are already considering Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club as Erik ten Hag emerged as the latest name on their shortlist of replacements.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have added Erik ten Hag to their list of potential candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou. The Australian’s time could come to an end after a disastrous season so far, and the 54-year-old former Manchester United manager emerged as a target alongside other names they have considered previously.

Tottenham fans are already voicing their opinion on the managerial situation following yet another dismal performance. Spurs posted their 13th loss of the Premier League season as relegation battlers Leicester City got the better of the North Londoners on their home turf.

Postecoglou had legitimate reasoning for their loss in form, as he blamed many defeats on the abject injury crisis they had in defence; however, in recent games, the famed Tottenham attack has gone missing, which has brought the pressure back on the Australian manager.

The pending cup clash with Liverpool is probably helping Postecoglou hold on to his role for now, as a loss in the second leg at Anfield could see Daniel Levy give the orders for his dismissal. There are a lot of names already been considered including current Premier League bosses Thomas Frank and Andoni Iraola.

Edin Terzic was also under consideration, although the latest name on their list is that of 54-year-old former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was relieved from his role at Old Trafford a couple of months back after another disastrous start to the season with the Red Devils. While he is out of a job, the links to Spurs will be seen positively, as it allows him a return to the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag to replace Ange Postecoglou?

The links to Ten Hag certainly show Tottenham are looking at options who are well-versed in the Premier League. The north Londoners are not alone in the hunt for the 54-year-old former Manchester United manager, with the Dutchman attracting interest from some European clubs like Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma, and RB Leipzig since his dismissal from Old Trafford.

As for Tottenham, they could prove an attractive destination for any top manager and certainly Ten Hag. Whether Erik ten Hag is the right choice remains the question, although he will bring plenty of experience and know-how to the Premier League.
