Liverpool prepared to pay €25 million for Stefanos Tzimas

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are ready to fork out €25 million for the services of PAOK Thessaloniki sensation Stefanos Tzimas.

Liverpool are constantly on the lookout for players that can further bolster their squad and they identified Stefanos Tzimas as a potential transfer target. He has been enjoying life in the German 2nd division and according to a report from Spox via Fussball, the Reds are willing to fork out €25 million to acquire his services.

Tzimas came up the ranks at PAOK Thessaloniki and got promoted to their first team at the start of 2023. The 19-year-old striker is currently on a season-long loan at 1.FC Nuremberg and his consistent performances have made him the talk of the town.

The teenager has been one of the standout performers in the 2nd division of German football. He has nine goals and two assists in his 15 league outings and multiple top clubs are now looking to prise him away.

While the loan deal runs out at the end of the season, Nuremberg have an option to make the move permanent for just €18 million. They are seriously considering triggering the purchase option. But, post that, they could look to sanction his departure for a higher price.

Liverpool to push for Tzimas

Liverpool are the ones who are keen on signing the in-form Greek forward. The Reds already have a lot of options in the final third but they still seek more quality. With Mohamed Salah’s long-term future uncertain, they want to bring in someone who can help them in the short as well as the long run.

Tzimas is considered to be an ideal fit for their plans going ahead and the Reds seem to be quite serious about their pursuit of his signature. While he might not be a like-for-like replacement for the Egyptian, the teenager can surely help with his output in the final third.

The Reds are looking to knock on the doors of the German 2nd division team and they are willing to table an offer worth €25 million which will help them book an instant profit of around €7 to €8 million. With multiple top clubs keen on his signature, Liverpool will surely have to battle hard if they want to sign the Greek youth international.
