Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham have reportedly enquired about Bryan Mbeumo for this month, as a move could be on the cards.
According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Bryan Mbeumo could be a big transfer story of this window, as Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham ask for information about the Cameroonian. The Brentford star has been having an amazing season so far and could potentially leave the club in this window.
Bryan Mbeumo could be one of the big transfer stories in the latter stages of this January window, as there’s some interest for Brentford to worry about. The Cameroonian has been having a brilliant season at Brentford following a tally of 13 Premier League goals this season, which has certainly attracted big interest.
The big story here is that Mbeumo has 18 months left on his deal and some might argue this might be Brentford’s best opportunity to get a higher price. The report states the Cameroonian might cost upwards of €50 million, which might suit some of the Premier League suitors.
In fact, the report names Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham as suitors for the winger, and stated the three clubs have asked for information regarding the forward. Manchester United have been linked with Mbeumo before and could make a move if they can offload some of their current stars, namely Marcus Rashford.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are looking for a new attacker and could view Mbeumo as a potential replacement for Timo Werner. However, Spurs do not have an immediate requirement in the attack, although they could pounce on a market opportunity.
Are Arsenal the strongest contender for Bryan Mbeumo?
Arsenal are also in the mix for the Cameroonian, and given they have shortages in the attacking setup following injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, they are likely to push for a move. Mbeumo could be the direct replacement for the former, although Mikel Arteta could also utilise him in other front-three roles.
Brentford had plans to price clubs out of a move earlier, but should they receive a serious enough offer coupled with the player’s desire to leave, they could sell. For now, this story does have legs, as it could evolve in the time remaining in this month’s transfer window.
