Napoli have established contact with the agents of Manchester United attacking sensation Alejandro Garnacho ahead of a potential transfer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are looking to acquire the services of Alejandro Garnacho and they have contacted his agents as they look to learn more about a potential transfer in the ongoing transfer window.
The Naples-based club have started preparing for life without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international is living his final days at the Italian club as he has decided to switch clubs. He is on the verge of joining PSG and the transfer could be finalised in the coming days.
Napoli are currently top of the Serie A table and to ensure they remain in the title race, they want to bring in an ideal replacement for Kvaratskhelia. Antonio Conte wants to ensure they have enough firepower up top.
Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is one of the names on their wishlist. The Italian giants ideally want to sign a young star who can help them both in the short as well as the long run. The Argentine winger seems to be an ideal fit for Conte’s system as well as Napoli’s project.
He is already one of the stars at United and he has the potential to be a special player. While he has had quite a rise at Old Trafford, reports suggest the 20-year-old’s playing style doesn’t really suit Ruben Amorim’s system.
Napoli suffer a blow in their pursuit of Garnacho
With his game time getting affected after the arrival of the Portuguese manager, Garnacho is considering his future and Napoli are looking to pounce on the opportunity.
Mauro Manna, the Napoli sporting director is working hard to ensure they can bring in Kvaratskhelia’s replacement without much trouble. He recently travelled to Barcelona where he met with Garnacho’s agents to discuss a potential transfer to Naples.
Manna wanted to learn more about the feasibility of the operation, the player’s will and the wages involved. Manchester United have slapped a massive £70 million asking price for the 20-year-old. The price tag is a massive blow for Napoli.
The feeling in the Italian camp is that they try negotiating a lower fee or abandon the pursuit of Garnacho and shift their focus towards other targets. If they fail to sign a young winger, they could look to sign Timo Werner on a temporary basis.
