Como keen on signing Tyrell Malacia

Italian minnows Como are reportedly interested in signing Tyrell Malacia, with previous reports stating Manchester United could loan the left-back.

According to Chris Wheeler, Como have entered the race for Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia, with suggestions that the Dutchman could depart on a loan deal. The Italian minnows are showing some ambition, although the out-of-favour Manchester United defender could have plenty of other offers.

Manchester United are in the market for a new left-back, although that requirement might be slightly altered with what Ruben Amorim wants. The Portuguese coach likes to play with wing-backs, and there are not many players in the team that suit that role, although Diogo Dalot seems like the current starter, mainly for his defensive ability.

In the future, a far more attacking profile will be seen as ideal by Amorim to fill the position, which could cast long-term doubts about the future of Tyrell Malacia. The Dutchman had returned from a long-term injury back at the end of November, but so far, he has started only twice in the league since.

There’s a feeling that the out-of-favour Manchester United defender may not be seen as a big part of Amorim’s plans, at least in the current scenario. Reports were stating the club were open to sanctioning a loan deal for Malacia, meaning some of the clubs could show an interest in the coming days.

There’s Juventus in the mix, with the club having injury-related problems in the position, meaning they would prefer a loan move more than anything. Borussia Dortmund are also keen, although the most surprising name here is Como, who are angling a loan move for the out-of-favour Manchester United defender.

Como angling Tyrell Malacia loan

Como have already made it clear they’re looking for interesting signings in this window, as their chase of Malacia is an indication of that. They were also keen on Marcus Rashford, although the attacker has ruled out the possibility

The idea of taking Malacia would make sense for the player to enter a sphere of competitiveness in Serie A and probably become a key starter under Cesc Fabregas.  The move could benefit all parties concerned, including Manchester United, although any deal will depend on Malacia’s preference should he depart Old Trafford, even on a loan.
