Marcus Rashford could help Aston Villa land Donyell Malen, AC Milan talks stepped up

A move for Marcus Rashford to Borussia Dortmund could benefit Aston Villa’s pursuit of Donyel Malen, with AC Milan also in talks with the Manchester United outcast.

According to Caught Offside, Donyel Malen’s move to Aston Villa might hinge on Borussia Dortmund’s ability to land Marcus Rashford. AC Milan are also interested in the Manchester United outcast who is free to leave, and any departure will depend on the club’s ability to pay a chunk of his massive wages.

Another day and there’s another twist in the Marcus Rashford saga, as more clubs come into the equation for the Manchester United outcast. The winger has already expressed his desire to quit Old Trafford for a new challenge, which could force the Red Devils into sanctioning a loan move now and find a permanent solution next summer.

Borussia Dortmund are eager to land Rashford, provided Manchester United pay a chunk of his massive wages. This deal might have similarities to the one that saw Jadon Sancho arrive last winter on loan from the Red Devils and went on to have a tremendous second half of the campaign.

Rashford could look at a similar pathway, and Dortmund’s ability to land the Manchester United star could then determine Donyel Malen’s impending future. The Dutch winger has been linked with Aston Villa this month, with the Birmingham-based club already reaching some sort of verbal agreement with the player, who has a €25-30 million price tag.

Malen is eager to play in the Premier League and could green-light the move to Villa if things go as per his wishes. However, Dortmund are eager to land Rashford as a potential replacement for the €25-30 million-rated attacker, meaning their failure to land the Manchester United outcast could have a detrimental effect on Aston Villa’s plans.

AC Milan in talks for Marcus Rashford loan

As per another report on Caught Offside, Rashford’s representatives are in Italy, holding talks with AC Milan over a potential move. This report also states Manchester United are open to paying part of the winger’s wages, but there’s still work to do to get this signing over the line.

Milan are open to making a move, although, with Dortmund’s presence in the race, things could get complicated. The Rashford saga does not seem like a straightforward deal from many angles, as Manchester United may have to wait until the latter stages to offload the attacker off their books.
