Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have no intentions of parting ways with their midfield mainstay Sandro Tonali amidst exit links.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Newcastle United consider Sandro Tonali an integral part of their first team setup and they are unwilling to sanction his departure. While the former AC Milan star has been linked with a move away, the Magpies have decided that he is going nowhere.
After coming up the ranks at Brescia and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Tonali made the move to Milan in the summer of 2020. The move became permanent next summer. While he was expected to be the next big thing at the Italian club, the versatile midfielder ended up parting ways with the club in 2023.
The 24-year-old made the move to Newcastle United who were looking to bring a solid base following their mega takeover. Tonali had an impressive start to life in England but the betting ban derailed his progress. However, he returned to action in the summer and has been one of their standout performers in the first half of the campaign.
Tonali won’t be leaving Newcastle
While Tonali has been doing most things right on the pitch and he still has over three years left on his deal, the Italian international has been linked with a move away from the club. Juventus are one of the Italian clubs that seem to be interested in the midfield star.
Thiago Motta’s team seek more quality in the centre of the park and they feel Tonali could do wonders for them. Apart from the Old Lady, Milan also have an impossible dream of re-signing the 24-year-old. But, that seems very unlikely.
According to the report, the Magpies are not open to his departure. Irrespective of the fee on the table, the Tyneside club do not want to negotiate his sale. He is one of their mainstays and Eddie Howe won’t allow the club to sell one of his important players mid-season as he feels Tonali could be key to how they finish the season.
