Ange Postecoglou yet to approve Nicolo Fagioli move, player offered to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Nicolo Fagioli, but Ange Postecoglou has yet to approve the move.

Nicolo Fagioli has been linked with Crystal Palace and West Ham United as well. According to a report by Give Me Sport, Ange Postecoglou is yet to give a green light to the move for the Juventus midfielder, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to move for him in the coming weeks.

It is no secret that Tottenham need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the Italian midfielder could prove to be a useful acquisition. The Juventus man has shown his quality in Serie A, and he has the technical attributes to thrive in English as well.

Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg left the club in the summer transfer window, and Tottenham are lacking in depth in the midfield. They need a quality central midfielder who can stitch the play together and help out defensively.

The Italian midfielder could be tempted to join the North London club in January. They have a talented squad and an exciting project. If Spurs can offer the 23-year-old regular gametime, he will certainly want to get the move across the line. Fagioli needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and he has not been a key player for Juventus.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham secure an agreement with the Italian club. However, their manager will have to approve a move first. In addition, Tottenham will face stiff competition from Crystal Palace and West Ham United, with the two London clubs also keen on landing him.

Tottenham might wait until the summer

Tottenham have been quite mediocre during the first half of the season, and they need quality additions in January in order to bounce back strongly. With that said, the midfield unit might not be a priority for them right now. They are lacking in depth in the defensive unit as well because of consistent injury problems.

It would not be a surprise if Tottenham decided to prioritise the signing of a quality central defender in January. They might decide to hold off on signing a midfielder until the end of the season. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Recent reports have linked them with players like Ben Godfrey.

Crystal Palace and West Ham need more depth in the midfield as well. The 23-year-old Italian would be an attractive option for them. It will be interesting to see if they can take advantage of his current situation and get the deal done. He will be available for a reasonable price of around £20 million.
