Jakub Kiwior is reportedly open to joining Antonio Conte’s Napoli ahead of the January window; informs agent to speak with Serie A side.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Jakumb Kiwior has instructed his agent to meet with Napoli as he’s open to joining Antonio Conte’s side. The Polish defender has not been a regular under Mikel Arteta, although the Spanish manager still considers him an important utility man in his plans for the season.
Jakub Kiwior appeared to have had his breakthrough season the last time out, although certain arrivals in the summer have made him more of a bench option. The utility man is often called from the bench to see out games, as this is not a role he’s satisfied with.
Kiwior did start two recent games against Manchester United and Fulham, but he seeks game time with more regularity as he could push for a January transfer. For months now, the Polish defender has attracted interest from big Serie A clubs, including Napoli, with Juventus also keen in the wake of the Gleison Bremer injury.
Arsenal views the player as key to their plans this seaosn, albeit as a bench option, meaning to sell him, they will demand a significant fee. The Gunners would like to make a profit off their investment in the Polish international, which could price out some of the Italian sides.
However, Kiwior wants regular action, and that could see him being open to a switch to Napoli in the January window. There’s talk of a loan move, which Arsenal might accept if there’s a sizeable buy option inserted as a clause, something Napoli will be capable of.
Jakub Kiwior wants agent to speak with Napoli
As the January window approaches, Kiwior has seemingly made his decision to quit Arsenal for a return to Serie A. He has reporteldy instructed his agent to speak with Napoli over a potential move, as he feels there will be a place in that backline under Antonio Conte.
Conte seeks a versatile defender who can play centrally and as a full-back, as Kiwior ticks these boxes. The Pole also has the same agent as Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, which could work in Napoli’s favour, as any move will depend on the finances on offer to Arsenal for their utility man.
