Arsenal could offer Gabriel Jesus in deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal and Juventus could engage in a big operation that could see Gabriel Jesus being offered for Serbian frontman Dusan Vlahovic.

According to Spazio J, Juventus could be offered the chance to sign Gabriel Jesus if Dusan Vlahovic goes in the other direction to Arsenal. On paper, both clubs could see value in such a deal as Thiago Motta wants a technical operator while Mikel Arteta seeks a prolific goalscorer.

Arsenal’s lack of goalscoring threat right before the January transfer window has triggered fan voices to sign a new striker ahead of the winter window. There are some credible links to Newcastle United frontman Alexander Isak, and the overall consensus is that the Swede would be the best fit. In turn, the Magpies have been reportedly looking at Gabriel Jesus, who does not seem to have a long-term future at the Emirates.

Jesus has not been the preferred choice to start games this season, with Mikel Arteta sticking with Kai Havertz as his first choice No.9 since the start of 2024. In any case, the need for a new striker is evident, as Arsenal could target a new player, as Dusan Vlahovic’s name has been mentioned again.

Arsenal were heavily interested in the 24-year-old Serie A striker back in January 2022 when he joined Juventus. It appears that Arteta has not lost track of Vlahovic since, time and again, the Gunners are linked with bringing the Bianconeri star to the Emirates.

Vlahovic’s current contract ends in 2026, with reports suggesting that a new deal may prove a difficult operation for both parties. Hence, Arsenal might look to offer Jesus in return for Vlahovic, although further details about a prospective deal remain unclear. However, this could work out for both managers.

Juventus might sell Vlahovic; Jesus could be an option

Juventus are willing to sell Vlahovic for €70 million, as per some reports, although they are eager to try for a renewal. Thiago Motta reportedly prefers a more technical operator in his frontline, which makes the arrival of Jesus an idea that would suit the Juventus manager. He also wants to explore a move for Joshua Zirkzee, with whom he worked well at Bologna.

Jesus’s style of play might suit how Juventus operate in the attack, although it remains to be seen if the 27-year-old is keen on a switch to Turin. As for Vlahovic, his wage demands are the reason why a renewal might not have materialised yet, although an interest from Arsenal this time could be considered by the 24-year-old Serie A striker.
