Manchester United eyeing up a move for Francisco Moura and Samu Omorodion

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are plotting a raid on Portuguese club FC Porto for the signature of Francisco Moura and Samu Omorodion.

While Ruben Amorim has asked for time to assess the current squad at his disposal, he has started to make plans to reinforce his team. According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in the services of FC Porto duo Francisco Moura and Samu Omorodion as they are considered to be an ideal fit for the Portuguese manager’s system.

The Red Devils have quite a few problems in their squad that will be fixed over time. But, for now, they are looking to reinforce their attack as well as the defence by bringing in a new striker and a left-back.

United are interested in Francisco Moura

Signing a left-sided full-back is one of their priorities for the upcoming transfer window. The Manchester-based giants have struggled a lot because of long-term injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. They have been forced to line up Diogo Dalot on the left on numerous occasions.

To ensure they have enough depth on the left flank, the Red Devils are considering signing Francisco Moura who is enjoying an exceptional debut campaign at Porto. He joined them from Famalicão in the summer and has hardly had any difficulty adjusting to life at his new club.

The 25-year-old Portuguese full-back has seven goal contributions in his 20 outings this season. He has a solid defensive base and is known for his ability to have an impact in the final third of the pitch. He is versatile in nature and can take up any role on the left flank.

Another striker on the Red Devils’ radar

Having signed for Porto in the summer and with his contract running until 2029, United will have to make a significant investment to bring him to Old Trafford which does complicate things. Despite having signed two young strikers in recent windows, United are still on the lookout for a new forward and Omorodion is one of the names on their wishlist.

Reports suggest Joshua Zirkzee’s future at the club is uncertain and they are seeking an out-and-out striker to replace him and the former Atletico Madrid star can surely help their cause. The 20-year-old Spanish international has 13 goals in his 16 outings since moving to Portugal.

United have taken note of his ability on and off the ball and they consider him an ideal fit for Amorim’s system. While they are interested in him, his contract also runs until 2029 and any potential deal will require massive investment.
