Fulham rival Newcastle United, West Ham United in Igor Jesus chase

Fulham are ready to pursue Botafogo forward Igor Jesus, and Newcastle United and West Ham United are also keen.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Igor Jesus continues to attract massive interest from Premier League sides. Fulham are the latest to enter the chase for the Botafogo forward. Newcastle United and West Ham United are also keen on the 23-year-old Brazilian international, who might cost around £30 million ahead of January.

Premier League sides will gear up for the January transfer window, as many clubs want one or two positions sorted. Many are looking at attacking reinforcements, with a striker ever so needed for many managers despite having ample options for the time being.

Igor Jesus has made a name this season while playing for Botafogo, as well as starring for the Brazilian national team in recent call-ups. He is steadily cementing his status as the next permanent No.9 for the Selecao, which will undoubtedly prompt interested parties to make a move for the 23-year-old Brazilian international as soon as the January window.

West Ham are interested, although Jesus may not prefer to join the Hammers in the January transfer window. The East London outfit are eager to recruit a new forward following the disappointment with the signing of Niclas Fullkrug in the summer and the ineffectiveness of their current forwards.

The Hammers will face competition from Newcastle United and other clubs in their pursuit of Jesus. Fulham are the latest to enter the race for the attacker, as Marco Silva is eager to recruit a centre-forward to improve his otherwise formidable-looking attacking setup.

Botafogo will demand £30 million for Jesus

Botafogo have a big asset on their hands, especially with Igor Jesus’s rising stature at club and international level. They will not want to halt the striker’s progress if he wishes to move to one of those interested Premier League sides, although Botafogo will not let him leave on the cheap.

In fact, Botafogo are reportedly demanding at least £30 million to let the 23-year-old Brazilian international leave in January. This price point might be the only issue for clubs to bring the centre forward to England, although it’s not out of their range.
