RB Leipzig keen on keeping Castello Lukeba amid Liverpool, Real Madrid links

Liverpool and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing talented young French defender Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig.

According to Christian Falk on Caught Offside, RB Leipzig are keen on keeping Castello Lukeba at the club, and they are not considering a sale in the near future. The development will come as a major blow for Liverpool and Real Madrid. However, they can take matters out of Leipzig’s hands due to his €90 million release clause.

The French defender is a key player for RB Leipzig, and he earns €6 million per season with them. The Bundesliga club are not ready to sanction his departure anytime soon. However, Liverpool could use a quality young central defender like him.

Virgil van Dijk is on the wrong side of 30, and he is nearing the end of his contract at the club. Liverpool will have to start planning for a future without him. Lukeba would be an excellent acquisition for them, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. The young defender has all the tools to develop into a world-class player in future, thus justifying Liverpool’s interest.

Could Lukeba fancy a big move?

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be quite exciting for Castello Lukeba. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the country, and they could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities in England and push for trophies as well.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are keen on securing his signature as well. The Spanish giants need to plan for life after David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger. Lukeba would be a quality long-term investment for them. The Frenchman has the tools to develop into a top-class player, and he is certainly good enough to join some of the biggest clubs in the world.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool and Real Madrid can convince the Bundesliga club to change their stance with a lucrative offer. Both clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if the defender is tempted to join Liverpool or Real Madrid. If he decides to push for an exit, the German club will be under pressure to consider his departure.
