Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are keen on acquiring the services of Sevilla attacking sensation Stanis Idumbo.
Stanis Idumbo’s impressive rise at Sevilla has resulted in a significant amount of interest in his signature. According to a report from Fichajes, Aston Villa are keen on having him in their squad and their sporting director Monchi is pushing to bring the Belgian sensation to England.
Idumbo was a part of the famous Ajax youth ranks before he ended up joining Sevilla at the start of 2024. While he has been at the Spanish club for less than a year, the Belgian attacking midfielder has already made quite a name for himself and he has also made four first-team appearances so far.
In Sevilla’s recent 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona away from, the teenager had a 20-minute cameo appearance and he marked it with a goal. While the 19-year-old is not yet a finished product, he is already on the wishlist of top clubs thanks to his impressive performances at the youth level as well as the senior level.
He prefers playing as a ten but the youngster is capable enough to feature on either flank. While his contract with Sevilla runs until the summer of 2028 and fans will hope he stays to eventually become an important first-team player, clubs are looking to prise the Belgian sensation away from Spain.
Aston Villa want to sign Idumbo
Aston Villa are the ones keen on his signature. Their sporting director Monchi who was once at the helm of Sevilla wants to bring the teenager to the Premier League. He feels the versatile forward could be a great fit for Unai Emery‘s team and he could become an integral part of their first team in the long run.
He is a massive prospect and has all the qualities needed to succeed in the English top flight. Emery loves working with versatile players which suggests he would love to have the teenager in his squad. But, he has an important decision to make. He could choose to continue at Sevilla or look to join Villa where he will have the opportunity to face bigger clubs. But, a transition to England could be tricky.
