Liverpool considering Rayan Ait-Nouri swoop, Manchester United also keen

Liverpool are considering making a move for Wolves defensive sensation Rayan Ait-Nouri amidst interest from Manchester United.

According to a report from TBR Football, Liverpool are looking to reinforce the left side of their defence and they are interested in the services of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

While the priority is to extend the stay of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Reds’ recruitment team are also looking to strengthen the full-back department.

Liverpool keen on signing Rayan Ait-Nouri

They already have Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas who feature on the left side of their defence but people at the club feel there is room for improvement in that position.

Robertson’s levels have dropped of late and Tsimikas’s future has been uncertain since last summer. As a result, they are looking for someone who can bolster their back line and Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri is quite high on their wishlist.

They have been closely monitoring him for more than 12 months and feel he could be a great upgrade at left-back. The 23-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since moving to the Premier League from Angers in a deal worth £9.5 million.

While the Reds are willing to push hard for his signature when the transfer window reopens, they will face serious competition for his signature from their rivals.

Manchester United to rival Liverpool

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Manchester United are ready to provide stiff competition to their arch-rivals Liverpool. Ruben Amorim who is expected to soon take charge as the Red Devils’ new boss is keen on making Rayan Ait-Nouri his first signing.

The Sporting boss will look to implement his style of play at Old Trafford which means they will shift into a back three with two attack-minded wing-backs. He already has a super aggressive full-back in Diogo Dalot and wants to bring in another one for the opposite flank.

While Luke Shaw is a top-quality full-back going forward, his fitness is a major concern and they are looking at the Wolves defenders as someone who can help them in the long run.

Both Premier League giants are looking to raid Wolves at the turn of the calendar for the £33,000-per-week star as they have made it their priority to reinforce the left side of their defence. With Ait-Nouri entering the final 18 months of his deal, they do have a chance to strike a cut-price deal for the Algerian defender who was valued at around £60 million towards the end of last season.
