Liverpool eyeing Amar Dedic as Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement, make approach

Liverpool have started to plan for life without Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the Reds are looking at Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedic as an ideal replacement.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Amar Dedic. The young full-back’s consistent performances have caught the attention of people at the Merseyside club, who are looking for an ideal Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement.

Dedic became an important part of Red Bull Salzburg’s first team in the 2022/23 season, and he has not looked back since. The 22-year-old Bosnian full-back has established himself as one of the best young full-backs, and he now finds himself on the wishlist of Liverpool.

The Reds are trying their best to strike a new deal with their defensive mainstay Alexander-Arnold. His contract runs out at the end of the season, and they are holding talks to extend his stay. But, it seems those talks have not progressed well.

With contract talks hitting a standstill, recent reports suggest that Alexander-Arnold could be heading to Real Madrid who have been trying to sign him on a free transfer next summer. Since the English international’s continuity at Liverpool is not a certainty, the Reds are looking a potential replacements.

Dedic a realistic target for Liverpool

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, AS Monaco ace Vanderson and LOSC Lille’s Tiago Santos are all on the radar of the Merseyside club. While all three are quite highly rated, Amar Dedic looks like the most realistic target as Salzburg have been a selling club.

While his contract at the Austrian club runs until the summer of 2027, they will most likely let him leave for a decent fee. The Reds have already taken the first step towards bringing him to Anfield. Liverpool have asked for information about the young right-back and will now look to act on it.

Amar Dedic’s impressive performances have helped him climb up Liverpool’s transfer target list. The 22-year-old is ready to take on a bigger challenge. He wants to test himself at a higher level and would be open to a move to the Premier League in the near future.
