Juventus eyeing January move for Radu Dragusin

Juventus are plotting a January move for Radu Dragusin to replace Gleison Bremer, although the move could hit complications.

According to Juve-Live, Radu Dragusin is one of the defensive targets that Juventus has on their shortlist ahead of the January window. The Romanian is not playing enough at Tottenham, and the Bianocneri might attempt to take him on loan as a cover for the injured Gleison Bremer.

Thiago Motta has revitalised Juventus, which was left disgruntled during Max Allegri’s reign. The former Bologna boss has brought about a structure, defensive solidity, and attacking fluency that has seen the Bianconeri seem like challengers again, but there has been a break in his ideas.

The season-ending injury to Gleison Bremer was a severe blow to Motta’s plans, as the Brazilian was an essential element of his project. Juventus have decent coverage in Danilo and Pierre Kalulu, although they would need more depth in the defensive defence to sustain the long season.

There have been links to Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, although Mikel Arteta sees the Polish defender as key to his defensive depth and is unlikely to sanction a sale in January. There are others in the mould of Jonathan Tah and Milan Skriniar, but the duo are deemed expensive as they will only leave their current clubs on permanent deals, as Juventus are only keen on a loan arrival.

The other option is that of Radu Dragusin, the 2024 January signing for Tottenham, who has failed to find his feet in Ange Postecoglou’s plans. He remains a vital part of the squad, although the Australian manager has only preferred him as a backup to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. There were rumours of a summer exit, but the Romanian has remained at Spurs and is willing to fight for his place.

Juventus may find it difficult with Dragusin

Juventus’ idea for a loan move might hit a roadblock as Tottenham are unlikely to put themselves in a precarious position ahead of January. His agent recently commented that the defender was to remain in north London amid links with Napoli, and that might be the case with the Bianconeri unless they come up with an offer that Tottenham cannot refuse.

Juventus are unlikely to make a big money bid, as they have tight finances ahead of January. They will only scour the market for loan options. They do have other targets, although there’s a chance of an enquiry for Dragusin, which Spurs might swiftly rebuff.
