Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham could be priced out of Eberechi Eze move

Eberechi Eze’s asking price could scupper his chances of signing for one of the big clubs showing an interest, as teams are unlikely to meet his release clause.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham could all be priced out of a deal for Eberechi Eze owing to his massive release clause. The Crystal Palace playmaker will likely want to move out of Selhurst Park, but the going rate could scupper any immediate move.

Eberechi Eze has a big future ahead following an important year in his career, where he might have become a regular in the England squad. The Crystal Palace playmaker’s status has grown even more following the departure of Michael Olise, which has placed more importance on him to lead the attack for the club.

There’s also a big contract situation looming large over Palace, as a refusal to sign fresh terms could see the club reluctantly sell the playmaker. He does have a release clause in his current deal, which is expected to be active next summer, as the Eagles are unlikely to sell him in January.

The 26-year-old attacker has a £60 million release clause, and as things stand, Palce will demand the full price to sell him. Next season, there’s an expectation that they might reduce the rate, although the chances are that Palce might stick with their stance and demand the full rate.

Such a stance would all but scupper a move to a big club amid reports that Manchester United have deemed him beyond their reach with his current price. Other interested clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool might also see the price as too heavy for a player of his quality, which could end up scuppering his big career move next summer.

Can Eberechi Eze leave Palace for less?

Last summer, Palace might have outright refused bids for Eze if clubs came in with offers lower than his release clause. They might continue holding their stance, but next summer could be their last chance to sell the 26-year-old playmaker at a decent price, given he could walk away on a free transfer in 2026.

Hence, they will likely come to a compromise on his price, especially if he refuses to sign a new contract this season. For their business model, the Eagles are likely to accept lower bids than £60 million for their prized asset, as Eze is likely to get his big career move next summer.
