Manchester United will not be able to sign Randal Kolo Muani in January, with PSG not interested in selling the striker.
According to Caught Offside, Randal Kolo Muani might not leave PSG. The French side are not interested in a sale following links to Manchester United. While the French international has been underwhelming after his big move to Paris, they still see him as an important part of their future.
The departure of Kylian Mbappe has taken a big chunk of PSG’s goals this season, as some of their forwards have not been up to the mark. PSG have two good strikers in Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani, but neither have shared the burden since the campaign began. The former has been injured since matchday one of Ligue 1, while the latter has only found the net twice in seven games.
Should he meet all the criteria, PSG would have paid around €95 million to Eintracht Frankfurt, but Kolo Muani is nowhere near the player he was in the Bundesliga. PSG continues to believe in the striker and is eager for him to be part of their long-term future.
Manchester United has seen links to Kolo Muani lately, but there are complications if they attempt a January swoop. PSG are not willing to sell the 25-year-old World Cup finalist in the winter window, although there’s a feeling a conversation could be had in the summer.
Summer arrival Joshua Zirkzee has seen links over a return to Serie A, only months after joining Manchester United. It could also be a reason for the Red Devils entering the market for a new striker, although they may have to wait another six months before opening talks for Kolo Muani, who was also a target in the summer of 2023.
Manchester United’s striker chase
Manchester United were not expected to sign a new striker so soon after Zirkzee in the summer, when they invested more than €40 million in the Dutchman. While he has not settled with the club and their style yet, Erik ten Hag will have to give him time, although they are already linked with new names such as Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.
Jonathan David is also a target, and they might even consider a January bid to get ahead of the competition. However, neither striker is expected to move in January, and Kolo Muani will also remain in Paris for the foreseeable future, as Manchester United may only have a realistic chance to sign a new striker in the summer.
