Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking sensation Randal Kolo Muani.
Manchester United have endured a poor start to the season and at this point, the future of Erik ten Hag is the biggest talking point. The Dutch manager could soon be shown the exit door. While the focus is on ten Hag’s future, the Red Devils continue to plan for the future. They are interested in adding more firepower to their attack and according to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are interested in the services of PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani and could go all out to prise him away from France.
The Ligue 1 giants forked out a massive €95 million to sign the 2022 World Cup finalist from Eintracht Frankfurt on the back of his heroics in the 2022/23 season. He was scoring goals for the fun, and PSG invested a significant sum to sign him in the summer of 2023 with an eye on the future.
While the 25-year-old striker has showcased glimpses of the talent he possesses, Randal Kolo Muani hasn’t been consistent enough. He hasn’t met the lofty expectations following his move to the Ligue 1 giants. He only has 11 goals and six assists in his 49 outings.
Manchester United ready to go all out for Kolo Muani
Kolo Muani’s contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2028. But with the club looking for attacking reinforcement, reports suggest they could cash in on the French international, who was recently offered to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination for Kolo Muani.
While the Red Devils have signed Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in recent windows, they still do not seem to have enough firepower up top. They are considering making yet another big investment to solve their goalscoring issues.
Things might not have worked out for Randal Kolo Muani at PSG. But Manchester United feel a change in scenery could help him return to his best. The Red Devils have been keeping a close eye on his situation and are reportedly ready to make a massive €70 million investment to land him at Old Trafford.
Manchester United want more quality up top and feel the French international could help their cause. As far as PSG are concerned, they won’t mind an offer of around €70 million as it will allow them to cut their losses and reinvest the amount in another signing.
