Liverpool ready to keep Trent Alexander-Arnold in Mohamed Salah pay bracket

Liverpool are ready to offer Trent Alexander-Arnold massive wages in an attempt to keep hold of their academy graduate.

Liverpool have enjoyed an incredible start to the season under new boss Arne Slot. While everything seems to heading in the right direction, the Reds do have a lot to worry about as the contracts of three of their stars Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold run out at the end of the season.

According to a report from TBR Football, the Merseyside club are confident about extending Alexander-Arnold’s contract. The report suggests that they might be very close to good news with respect to the English full-backs. The Englishman has not held talks with any clubs apart from the Reds, who are optimistic that he will put pen to paper on a new deal.

The 25-year-old right-back has come up the ranks at Liverpool, and he has been a constant feature for them at the back since getting promoted to their first team back in the summer of 2016. He has been key to all the success they have had over the years.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could join Real Madrid for free?

While the English international remains a key part of their first team under Arne Slot, the English international’s future at the club is uncertain with his contract running out in 2025. He will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with an interested in the club in January and could walk away for free next summer.

Real Madrid have been linked with the 25-year-old. Los Blancos want to reinforce the right-back position with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez both on the wrong side of 30. Alexander-Arnold is one of their top targets, and they are believed to working in the background to snatch him on a free transfer.

A bumper new contract for Alexander-Arnold

But, Liverpool have no intention of losing out on one of their best players. The Reds are working hard to tie him down to a new deal. The player has not held talks with any club, and the Reds are confident that he will sign the deal that has been discussed.

The Merseyside club are ready to make him one of the highest-paid players and put him in the same bracket as Mohamed Salah. His new deal will see him earn close to £300,000-a-week wages. While Alexander-Arnold is still considering his options, the Reds are trying everything in their power to ensure he stays.
