Real Madrid are reportedly open to selling Aurelien Tchouameni next summer, with Liverpool emerging as a strong contender.
According to Fichajes, Aurelien Tchouameni could be one of those players that Real Madrid may end up selling next summer. The French midfielder is good value in the current market, as the Spanish giants could use the funds to strengthen other areas, while clubs like Liverpool are keen on the 24-year-old.
Aurelien Tchouameni seems well settled at Real Madrid, and considering Toni Kroos left in the summer, many predicted the Frenchman would have an even more influential role in the squad. That has not been the case so far, as his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s side does not appear to be guaranteed, although he’s still deemed a key player.
Tchouameni is happy at Real Madrid after recent rumours pointed at a possible exit from the club next summer when reports linking the Spanish giants to Rodi emerged. However, the Spanish international has since sustained a serious knee injury, which ended his season and possibly even Real Madrid’s interest.
However, there are still strong suggestions from Spain that Real Madrid would consider selling Tchouameni for around €80 million. Big English clubs would be keen if that were to happen, as Manchester City will, incidentally, look for a new defensive midfielder next summer.
Tchouameni could leave for a big English side, with Arsenal also considered in the mix. They will look at options to replace one of Thomas Partey and Jorginho or even both. However, the significant interest might come from Merseyside, as Liverpool remains interested after reportedly making an approach during the summer but without any success.
Liverpool remain interested in Tchouameni
Liverpool’s desire for a new defensive midfielder is no secret after the club failed in their high-profile pursuit of Martin Zubimendi, who rejected an offer from the Reds. Whether there’s a chance to revive an interest in the Real Sociedad star remains to be seen, but they will look for a new holding midfielder.
Tchouameni could be a significant option for Liverpool, as the 24-year-old Real Madrid star’s €80 million price tag should not be a problem for the Reds. Hence, should the Frenchman leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, the Merseysiders would dash to stay in front of the queue.
