Brighton & Hove Albion are willing to make an improved offer for Baris Alper Yilmaz the next time out as they hope to beat Tottenham.
According to Sabah via Sport Witness, Baris Alper Yilmaz is still on Brighton & Hove Albion’s radar, with the Premier League side now willing to make an improved offer. The Turkish forward was reportedly the subject of considerable interest from Premier League sides, as the Seagulls are hoping to beat Tottenham for the attacker’s signature.
Baris Alper Yilmaz confirmed his rise in stature following an excellent showing for Turkey at the Euros. Those performances came after a brilliant season with Galatasaray. The attacker has started the new campaign in fine form, as Galatasaray could be a force with him and loan arrival Victor Osimhen at their disposal.
There have been widespread reports of discontent between the player and Galatasaray over his salary, as he believes he could be worth a lot more than his current wages. Hence, there is a big chance for Yilmaz to join a Premier League side, as it could be a huge financial opportunity for him and his family.
Yilmaz had many Premier League sides monitoring him during the summer. But apparently, Brighton had made a €20 million bid to sign him. Galatasaray had rejected the same, as the Seagulls could return with an improved offer in the coming windows.
Galatasaray reportedly wanted €50 million at one point, although they will feel that no club might come in with offers anywhere close to that sum. Brighton & Hove Albion are now hoping to convince the Turkish champions with an improved €25 million offer, as they will aim to beat competition for the 24-year-old versatile Turkish attacker, with Tottenham one of those keen.
Brighton and Tottenham battling for Yilmaz
Tottenham reportedly held talks for Yilmaz in the summer, as Ange Postecoglou wanted a new versatile attacker in his ranks. There were doubts about Brennan Johnson heading into the new season, and while those concerns have persisted, Spurs could make a potential move for Yilmaz in the future.
Brighton are set to take their first steps towards securing the forward, having seen their summer bid fail. The €25 million offer could again be rebuffed, as Galatasaray are likely to hold out for more to sell their promising forward to one of those Premier League sides.
