Dele Alli poised to make Everton return soon

England international midfielder Dele Alli is all set to return to action with Everton soon after his previous contract ran out.

According to a report from The Sun, Dele Alli is likely to be handed another opportunity to showcase his qualities at Goodison Park. Everton’s director of football Kevin Thelwell has suggested that the club and the player are keen on a deal, and it remains to be seen whether they can sort out an agreement quickly.

The 28-year-old is a free agent and therefore, he will be allowed to join clubs outside of the window. The versatile midfielder has had persistent injury problems, and he will look to get over them and get his career back on track. Alli will look to establish himself as a key player for Everton in the Premier League and force his way into the England setup once again.

The Englishman was regarded as one of the best young players in the world during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. However, he never quite managed to fulfil his potential. At one point, he was expected to be the ideal long-term successor to the England legend Frank Lampard.

His ability to create goalscoring opportunities in the final third and find the back of the net with consistency made him one of the most hottest properties in European football a few years ago. However, his career has gone downhill ever since, and it remains to be seen whether he can revive himself after a long battle with injuries and mental health issues.

Can Everton get the deal done?

Everton will have to secure an agreement with Tottenham before they can finalise the deal. The Merseyside outfit had agreed on certain bonuses with Tottenham when the player joined them from the North London club in 2022. The two parties will now have to sort out an agreement over those add-ons before a move can be completed.

Alli will certainly hope that all parties can come to an agreement quickly quickly so that he can sort out his future and focus on his football once again. Everton have had a poor start to the season, and they will hope that the 28-year-old former Tottenham star can galvanise them.
