Julen Lopetegui has West Ham United backing despite poor results

Julen Lopetegui has the backing of the West Ham United chiefs as the club is keen to show patience as they believe results will follow under the Spaniard.

According to Caught Offside, Julen Lopetegui’s position at West Ham United remains safe for now despite a terrible run of results. The Hammers chiefs are ready to show patience with the Spaniard for the time being, as they feel results would follow soon once the squad settles with new methods.

Julen Lopetegui has West Ham backing

Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes, who was West Ham’s manager for more than four-and-a-half years, and the task of the new man coming in was always going to be difficult. The Spaniard has yet to find his feet at the London Stadium as he continues to implement his plans.

Lopetegui agreed to become the new Hammers boss as the club chiefs were looking to start a new era at the club. They were keen on making the first team attractive and a powerhouse in English football, something they have not achieved in a long time.

The Spaniard has not had the best of starts at the club following five games this season in the Premier League. Lopetegui has presided over a single win, one draw and three defeats in those fixtures, with the latest of the losses coming at the weekend against Chelsea at the London Stadium.

Such a run of games obviously brings the focus on the manager and his position at the club, although West Ham will continue to back Lopetegui for the time being. Hence, the summer arrival’s position is not in danger, as the Hammers chiefs are willing to show patience with his approach, although they would like to see an upturn in form even if it does not bring about the desired results.

Lopetegui keen to lay foundation at West Ham

Lopetegui was backed sufficiently in the transfer market, as West Ham were one of the big spenders. They have invested in the defence and midfield and even brought in a new striker in Niclas Fullkrug. At the same time, his system seems to have some flaws, which is primarily due to the players and their ability to adapt.

This adaptation process will take time as some of the critical signings like Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo and Crysencio Summerville have had slow starts to life at the London Stadium. Overall, West Ham have players of good quality to elevate this team and bring back European football, although this process will take some time, as the backing from the Hammers’ chiefs will serve the Spaniard well in his progression.
