Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United scout Atalanta sensation Ademola Lookman ahead of a potential transfer.
It hasn’t been long since the summer transfer window closed but clubs have already started making plans for future transfers. They have started scouting players and according to a report from TBR, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United had their representatives in the stands to watch Ademola Lookman this week.
The Premier League club’s scouts were tasked to monitor the Atalanta forward in their Champions League fixture on Thursday night. All four cubs are interested in the 26-year-old Nigerian international’s services and are looking to secure more information before making a move.
Lookman has played a lot of his football in England. His most recent spell in the country was with Leicester City during the 2021/22 season and he could soon return to the Premier League as top clubs are interested in his signature.
He has been a consistent performer for Atalanta since joining them in the summer of 2022 and his performances have put him on the radar of top English clubs. He was linked with a move away from the Italian club throughout the summer.
While they managed to hold onto the 26-year-old for now, he might not be around for long with just over 18 months left on his contract. Lookman who is capable enough to feature as a number ten, a number nine as well as a second striker finds himself on the wishlist of multiple English clubs.
Premier League clubs scout Lookman
Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle are three top clubs keen on his signature and they had their representatives in Bergamo on Thursday to watch him in action against Arsenal. All three clubs seek more firepower and they feel he could do wonders for them. His versatility could give them a lot of tactical flexibility.
The Gunners are also believed to have an interest in his services and they also closely monitored him in their 0-0 draw against the Italian outfit. Lookman had 27 goal contributions (17 goals, 10 assists) last season which makes it quite clear that he is super effective in the final third. He played a massive part in their triumph in the Europa League.
While he is valued at £51 million, all four clubs are capable enough to put an interesting offer on the table for Atalanta. They will most likely continue to monitor him before they decide on whether to make a move in the near future.
