Manchester United rival Newcastle United, Tottenham in Angel Gomes chase

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are hoping to sign Angel Gomes in a Bosman move next year.

Angel Gomes is out of contract at LOSC Lille in the summer transfer window and a report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Manchester United, Tottenham, Hotspur, and Newcastle United are looking to secure his services.

The Englishman left Manchester United in 2020, and he could be interested in a return to Old Trafford if the Red Devils are willing to promise him ample game time. He will look to prove his worth at Manchester United after failing to make his mark at the club in the previous spell.

Meanwhile, Tottenham need midfield depth as well, and the 24-year-old will add control and creativity to the side. Newcastle United are also looking to add more quality to the side, and they need to bring in more depth so that they can do well in multiple competitions.

The opportunity to join Manchester United or Tottenham will be more attractive for the player, and he will look to push for trophies with them. That said, Newcastle have an appealing project as well, and they are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world.

It remains to be seen where the 24-year-old ends up. The midfielder must seek game-time assurances before making the move. He cannot afford to sit on the bench at this stage of his career, and he should look to join a club where he will play every week.

Angel Gomes could do well in the Premier League

All three clubs could provide him with that platform, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. He earns £12,000-a-week wages in France, and a move to England could result in a substantial pay rise.

The opportunity to return to his boyhood club could certainly be a major factor in his decision making, and it is fair to assume that Manchester United might have a slight advantage over their Premier League rivals in the transfer race.

Whoever ends up signing him will have a major bargain on their hands. The 24-year-old is already operating at a high level, and he will only get better with coaching and experience. Signing a player of his ability and potential on a free transfer in today’s market would be an unbelievable bit of business.
