Arsenal legend and Premier League icon Ian Wright has now suggested that Mohamed Salah could look to continue at Liverpool beyond this season.
“I do get the impression that he will probably like to stay at Liverpool and break records. He has got that legacy to play for,” Wright told the Premier League. “Let’s say he stays for three years. Even if he dropped off in the last year, that’s 10 years of unbelievable service.
“I believe that he will probably stay if Liverpool go about it. And I know that people get very nervy around giving contracts to people in their 30s, but I think that he’s an exception in the way that he prepares himself and plays.”
The Egyptian international will be a free agent next summer, and Liverpool are yet to offer him a new contract, even though they want to secure his future. The winger recently revealed that Liverpool have not approached him regarding a contract extension, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
The 32-year-old is one of the best players in the club’s history, and he is certainly one of the best attackers in the Premier League history as well. Mohamed Salah has broken numerous records with the Merseyside club, and he continues to dazzle with his performances every week. The player has three goals in three games this term, and he will be instrumental in Liverpool’s success.
Liverpool must keep Salah at the club
Liverpool must keep Mohamed Salah at the club for as long as possible. Despite being 32, he is extremely fit and consistent. He is performing at a world-class level every week, and there is no reason for Liverpool to let go of him.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia are keen on securing his signature, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Liverpool will not be able to match the financial might of the Saudi Arabian clubs, but they could still offer him a bumper contract and convince him to stay.
Mohamed Salah is likely to be tempted to continue at Liverpool. He is at the peak of his career, and he will not wants to move to Saudi Arabia right now. He will have plenty of time to move to Saudi Arabia and MLS in the near future.
For now, he should look to continue at the top European league, and staying at Liverpool would be ideal for all parties. Liverpool must step up their efforts to tie him down to a new long-term deal now.
