Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club ahead of next summer.
Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and the two parties have not been able to secure an extension yet. Clubs from Saudi Arabia are keen on signing the 32-year-old attacker next summer and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Liverpool recently picked up a 3-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League, and the Egyptian international reflected on his future after the game. Salah revealed that he is in the final season of his Liverpool career, and he wants to make it a memorable one.
He said (h/t Fabrizio Romano), “As you know it’s my last year in the club… I just wanna enjoy it, I don’t wanna think about it. No one in the club has talked to me yet about a contract, so I say it’s my last season. New deal? It’s not up to me… but no one has spoken to me at the club.”
The veteran Egyptian attacker has been exceptional for Liverpool since joining the club in 2017 from AS Roma. He has helped them win every single trophy at the club level, and he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the club’s history.
Despite Salah’s age, he continues to put in stellar performances week in week out, and he has already scored three goals in as many matches this season. It is evident that he is very much a world-class player, and Liverpool must do everything in their power to hold on to him.
The Egyptian’s availability has been exceptional since his move to Liverpool as well. He is clearly one of the fittest players in the world right now, and his age should have no bearing on his future at the club. Aside of his consistency, his tendency to perform in the big games consistently also makes him an indispensable asset.

Liverpool will be hoping to win major trophies in the coming seasons, and they need to keep the spine of their squad intact. Salah is not just one of their best players, he is also one of the leaders of the dressing room. Losing one of the best players in the world as a free agent would be a devastating blow for any club, and the Liverpool hierarchy must act quickly. The Egyptian is already one of the best players in the Premier League history statistically.

According to recent reports, the player would prefer to remain with Liverpool if the opportunity presents itself. So, the Merseyside outfit must do everything in their power to convince him to sign a new deal. Salah is already one of the highest earners in the Premier League, and the Reds should offer him a pay rise and tie his long term future down.
