Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal set a condition for the temporary departure of their English goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Arsenal are ready to negotiate a temporary departure of Aaron Ramsdale but according to a report from The Mirror, the Gunners are want an obligation to buy in any potential loan deal for their former number one as he head into the final week of the transfer window.
Ramsdale joined the North London club in 2021 for an initial fee of £24 million on the back of an impressive season with Sheffield United. He was Mikel Arteta’s preferred choice in goal until the arrival of David Raya last summer.
The Spanish shot-stopper has taken over as the club’s number one and Ramsdale has spent a significant amount of time sitting on the sidelines. While he still has two years left on his deal with the North London club, he doesn’t intend on continuing as a backup to Raya.
The English international seeks regular first-team action and Arsenal have no plans of standing in his way as long as their demands as met. The Gunners have already rejected quite a few offers for the 26-year-old. While they are keen on offloading him and are ready to negotiate a temporary exit, Arteta’s team have set their conditions.

They want to negotiate an obligation to buy in any potential loan move as we head into the final days of the window. They can still give the green light to a temporary exit with an option to buy if a club is willing to hand them a significant loan fee and cover a significant part of Ramsdale’s £120,000-a-week salary.
The North London club seem quite prepared for the departure of Ramsdale. Not only have they set their conditions, but they have already identified a potential replacement in Joan Garcia. The Spanish shot-stopper has done wonders at Espanyol in the recent past and he has a £25.4 million release clause in his contract.
Ajax and Wolves are clubs who have failed to sign the English goalkeeper and Bournemouth are also considering re-signing him. With Arsenal making their demands clear, it will be interesting to see which club knocks on their door next.
