Manchester United inch further closer to landing Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United are now closing in on a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, with the 23-year-old eager to join the Red Devils.

Manchester United have been pursuing Manuel Ugarte for months, and it seems that the transfer is now inching closer to completion. According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Give Me Sport, the Red Devils are quite close to finalising the move now.

The deal is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations, and the player wanted to join them desperately. Manchester United already have an agreement with the player since the end of July, and he has been left out of the PSG playing squad for two weeks in a row. Les Parisiens want around £51 million to sell the player.

The £51 million-rated midfielder made it abundantly clear that he wanted to join Manchester United over other clubs this summer. The 23-year-old midfielder struggled for regular game time at PSG in the second half of the 2023/24 season, and he will be hoping to get his career back on track now.

Manchester United should be able to provide him with the opportunities he needs. They need a quality defensive midfielder to take over from Casemiro, and the 23-year-old would be a long term investment for them.

Manuel Ugarte will look to get back to his best

Ugarte was highly rated across Europe during his time at Sporting CP, but the move to PSG never quite worked out. It will be interesting to see if he can get back to his best once again. Ugarte needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. Regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential. He has the attributes to develop into a top class Premier League midfielder.

Manchester United will be hoping to compete with Arsenal and Manchester City for the league title this season, and they need quality players at their disposal. The Uruguayan defensive midfielder should prove to be a quality acquisition for them.

He will protect the backline and break up opposition attacks as well. His arrival will also allow the creative players to operate with more freedom. Manchester United have a proven track record of nurturing young players, and they could help the South American improve further.
