Aston Villa willing to pay €35 million for Samu Omorodion

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are willing to fork out €35 million to sign Atletico Madrid attacking sensation Samu Omorodion.

According to a report from ElDesmarque, Aston Villa are looking to further reinforce their squad by signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid. While they have already added a lot of quality, Unai Emery’s team remain keen on more and are willing to fork out €35 million to bring the Spanish youth international to England.

Omorodion made a name for himself while playing for Granada before making the move to Spanish giants Atletico last summer. Since there was no place for him in the first-team squad of Diego Simeone, they ended up sending him out on loan to Alaves.

Omorodion’s failed move to Chelsea

His impressive performances while out on loan have resulted in a lot of interest and while he still has four years left on his deal at the Spanish club, they seem ready to cash in on him. Simeone’s team were in talks with Chelsea regarding a transfer that would see Conor Gallagher join them and Omorodion move the other way.

But, unfortunately, the move collapsed even though the 20-year-old had undergone his medical at the London club. While the move to the Blues is no longer a possibility with Joao Felix joining them in a deal involving Conor Gallagher, the Spanish youth attacker could still be seen in the Premier League as Aston Villa push hard for his signature.

Villa looking to sign the Spanish sensation

Villa are gearing up for Champions League football after finishing inside the top four last season. They have been quite active in the ongoing transfer window and have made some exceptional signings. But, Emery is not satisfied yet, he seeks more firepower and Omorodion is a player that excites him as well as Monchi.

The English outfit feel the Olympic Gold medalist could help them in the short as well as the long run. As a result, they would be willing to pay €35 million to sign the young Spanish striker. They are very close to the asking price that Atletico were looking for while negotiating with Chelsea. While talks with the Blues didn’t go according to plan, they are still open to the departure of the youngster as long as their demands are met.
